Spring is slowly but surely on its way. Do you have your spring cleaning scheduled? It is important to take the time to decrease the risks your Lodge may face this spring.

Explore these helpful tips to get ready:

Make a plan

All Lodges should have seasonal emergency plans with details about how to respond in the event of an emergency. Develop a communication plan with members of your Lodge. Maintain a list of contractors to call should an emergency occur. Restock your first-aid kit.

Check your roof

Most people only think to have their roof looked at after a hail storm or a leak. However, it is vital to check your roof before and after winter, as any snow or ice buildup can be hard on your roof.

Clean, clean, clean

Pressure-wash your sidewalks to remove any dirt, debris or remaining ice melt and sand. If you have any outdoor gathering areas that have been closed for the past season, get them cleaned, maintained and ready for use. Pay close attention to decking and stairs, making sure they’re in good repair. Have an exterminator check for termites and other pests, and treat as needed. Have your air conditioner unit(s) inspected, cleaned and serviced if necessary. Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Even the most prepared Lodge can have the inevitable occur. Protect your Lodge with Property Insurance administered by Lockton Affinity and designed to help protect Lodges like yours.

Coverage may not be available in all states and is subject to actual policy terms and conditions.  Coverage may be provided by an excess/surplus lines insurer which is not licensed by or subject to the supervision of the insurance department of your state of residence. Policy coverage forms and rates may not be subject to regulation by the insurance department of your state of residence. Excess/surplus lines insurers do not generally participate in state guaranty funds and therefore insureds are not protected by such funds in the event of the insurer’s insolvency.
